Our house is on fire. Year on year we are witnessing climate change with weather extremes growing in intensity and frequency. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) gives us only a 50/50 chance to limit global warming to 1.5°C by 2030. This is a tipping point, risking natural and human systems. Net Zero CO2 emissions are needed sooner to stabilize this climate change yet there are major concerns with the additional carbon footprint new technologies such as 5G and IoT will bring due to their densification of our networks and saturation of connected devices all requiring power.
So can 5G and IoT be Green?
This talk explores how these new technologies are now being designed with energy efficiency at their heart and also explores how they can enable green outcomes across broader industries such as automotive and Industry 4.0 helping contribute to putting the FIRE OUT.
