Abstract:

In this session, you will explore the intersection of the public cloud and edge with communications networks to unlock the potential of mission-critical low latency services. You will also learn about the role of Private Networks as a mechanism for enterprise and industrial transformation. The panel will discuss the role and opportunity for public and private clouds and edges, some opportunities for low latency IIoT services, the potential of private networks, and available architecture designs using different connectivity mechanisms including satellite, cellular, Wi-Fi.

Speakers:

SASDr. Divya Gupta brings over 11 years of experience in cloud computing, distributed systems, fault tolerance, big data analytics, technical consulting, and business collaborations. Divya is Senior Solutions Architect at SAS Global IoT Division. Her current work involves the integration of SAS Event Stream Processing in the cloud/on-premises platforms using Kubernetes and Containers, providing architecture solutions to customers to solve their business problems using various technology solutions and bridging the IoT edge to the clouds. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, from Université Grenoble Alpes, France.

Del Ashley, is an experienced manager in the field of communications technologies built from a practical background in mobile radio. Adept in growing teams of talented engineers and highlighting skills gaps and shortfalls. Currently building and managing global teams of sales engineers, solutions architects and solutions development engineers focusing on industrial IoT and narrowband solutions for industry in-line with the business strategy. Skilled in planning, leadership, business growth, developing opportunities, change management and empowering the team to excel and grow in their personal and professional capacities. Strong information technology professional with a credible history.

Bob Proctor is the co-founder and CEO of Link Labs, a leading provider of an end-to-end IoT platform for tagging, locating and monitoring equipment, supplies and assets anywhere at any time. With a PhD in applied physics and 25 years of entrepreneurial and business leadership, Proctor is also a founding principal of Blu Venture Investors, a venture capital investment company that supports early-stage entrepreneurs in the mid-Atlantic region of the U.S., which gives him a unique point of view on a wide range of emerging technologies and their novel applications and potential market viability.

Wayne Irwin VP – Operations – Emerging Business at Ericsson, and is a customer centric and solution oriented Technology Executive with over 30 years of progressive global sales, operations and business management experience. He has a track record of successfully implementing organizational transformations and business growth to achieve measurable business outcomes. Through his leadership, his teams solve complex business issues with well architected solutions based on a combination of products, services, and software platforms. Throughout his career, Wayne has been involved in a number of disruptive technology markets and continues to be engaged technological impacts on how people and businesses live and operate. Prior to Ericsson, Wayne worked at Intel, where he lead a team that is focused on developing a robust ecosystem in the IoT to provide joint solutions, solving significant market problems that are scalable and sustainable. His team was instrumental in developing this ecosystem of Technology Partners in support of Intel’s key vertical business units and overall Intel business objectives. Prior to Intel, he served as Senior Vice President and GM of the Embedded and Connected Services division of Symphony Services (global technology development and services), President of the Americas division for Acision – (SMS (text messaging) platforms to telecommunications operators), President & COO of Aperian (data center management) and many different positions at GTE (now Verizon). Wayne holds an MBA – finance from Xavier University and a BSBA in Marketing from Central Michigan University.

With over 20 years’ experience in telecommunications, Stephen has been at the cutting edge of next generation technologies and has worked across the industry with service providers, start-ups and network equipment manufacturers, helping them drive innovation and transformation. Todd Beets is an enthusiast of the tech and art of connective tissue to unlock and amplify composite applications. With over 20 years of experience, he has designed service integration, hosting, and access solutions across a wide-spectrum of use-cases and scale. Prior to Synadia, Todd served as principal architect at Starbucks and Qualcomm.
