- I don’t think about myself of being in IoT because fundamentally I think we are out there solving challenges that weren’t possible in the digital domain before- they were always manual. The reason for that is you couldn’t actually interact with your assets with the things out there. Matt Beal
- We see GenAI playing in almost anything. What gets me excited is if we think about the data that we have today- it is actually modest because when we get everything connected, with continuous stream AI will let us start to take some of these sensors and make use of them in a much more effective way. Matt Beal
- With Oracle being a data company it is great that they are seeing that power of AI helping their business and customer applications.
- The idea of GenAI that excites me is our ability to talk to our data so to speak. When you do deep learning of any kind you are generating a vector embedding of the content so everything is being reduced to a vector. Now you can search that space for other vectors- be it video or audio- so why not an IoT stream. Dr. Kirk Borne
- At lot of times in the IoT space we get so excited about how connecting the device and getting that sensor to give its reading that we can forget the solution isn’t about the connectivity or device. It is actually about recognising how do we solve a meaningful problem. We can get too excited on the trees and forget fundamentally what we are doing is building something much more complete with a valuable measurable outcome. Matt Beal
- We are embedding communications, devices, IoT and GenAi into those applications to make them that much more flexible and capable. What we are trying to do is demonstrate the challenges that they were never able to overcome in the past that they can now confront. We are really focused on that application level realisation- because that is where the real business problems get solved.
- It is about how do we make the fundamental changes in your back office systems to let you now do that in an automated way. To let you know do that on real time data. To let you communicate with everyone in real time. This is the path ultimately to people understanding and seeing real business value but more importantly real societal value accrued from these investments. Matt Beal
