IoT Slam 2016 Internet of Things Conference Homegrid ForumThere is a surge of wireless connected devices in a home.   Anywhere from the latest antenna ar-ray filled wireless home router to tablets, home camera’s, microwaves, and even talking barbie’s.  Consumers are more aware of the “dead zone” phenomenon where your Wireless Access Point cannot clearly reach certain areas of your home or the Wireless Access Point have a hard time filling in the gaps between one another.  G.hn a multi-medium wired solution is key to securing a stable freeway lane to Wireless euphoria.  The HomeGrid’s efforts ensure the fastest, simplest, and most secure means to connect the explosive number of devices being installed by consumers.  It is in the best interest of the consumer that any device will connect to any other device and with HomeGrid certification that interest is served.  Whether the device is wired or wireless, G.hn provides either seamless wired connectivity or the backbone for any wireless access point to be located where it can best meet the consumer’s needs.  HomeGrid forum is one of the most unique technical bodies in that it was formed by already successful technology companies in support of a newer standard that provides a convergence for all wired mediums with the path forward from the older standards.  It leverages many years of experience and brings together multiple companies with expertise on coax, power line, as well as phone line.

Donna Yasay joined the board of HomeGrid Forum and was elected president in March 2015. She is Business Development Director at Marvell Semiconductor. Donna has over 20 years’ experience in the telecoms industry working in engineering, sales and business development roles in both operator and vendor organizations, including AT&T, D-Link and Ikanos.
She began her career as a systems engineer at AT&T and Internet Connect before going into technical sales at D-Link and gradually moving into business development roles at Netopia, Tzero Technologies and Asoka USA Corporation and now her current position at Marvell. Her previous roles in engineering, sales, network services and business development, means Donna brings a knowledgeable, broad vision to her role as leader for HomeGrid Forum.

Her past experience in home networking in both LAN and WAN domains, fuels her desire to provide the consumer community with the right technology to enable a better quality of experience in their homes.
