IoT Community Leaders Panel – A Retrospective Look at IoT Everywhere

Abstract: 

The plurality and diversity of IoT solutions and deployments are growing rapidly. Connected “Things” per the IoT appear in virtually every consumer, commercial, and societal endeavour. The vast ecosystem of the IoT Community includes experts in many domains of the IoT, who have experience in practical end-user deployments. IoT Community member panelists will share a variety of extant IoT solutions, ranging from the connected worker, to smart retail, to utilities. In addition, listeners will hear real world analytical discussions on ROI, inhibitors to deployment, and lessons learned.

Speakers:

Dr. Tom Bradicich is VP, Hewlett Packard Fellow. Beginning his career at IBM, Tom was an IBM Fellow, VP, Distinguished Engineer, and Server CTO. Prior to HP and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Tom was an NI Fellow at National Instruments, an Operational Technologies (OT) company. HP / Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE):
Tom is currently Vice President, Hewlett Packard Fellow, and Global Head of Edge and IoT Labs & CoE, at HPE. He and his team develop and commercialize advanced as-a-Service (aaS) software and technologies, focusing on cloud managed remote infrastructure, edge-as-a-service, and converged IT/Operational Technologies (OT). Tom incepted and directs the HPE Channel-to-Edge Institute partner program, and leads company-wide strategies and venture/M&A assessments.

ZebraBill Inzeo is the Global Retail Technology Strategist for Zebra Technologies, responsible for identifying the most impactful technology solutions that align to the top challenges facing Zebra’s retail customers today, and in the future. Prior to joining Zebra, Bill was the Senior Director of Strategic Analytics, Systems and Support for Walgreens Asset Protection Solutions. In his role at Walgreens, he was responsible for maximizing the profitability of 9,000+ retail locations and was one of the company’s Subject Matter Experts for Total Retail Loss, leveraging technology and analytics to optimize Walgreens inventory performance, enable the Walgreens associate team and deliver a differentiating customer experience.

SASPeter Pugh-Jones (PPJ) leads a team of expert industry consultants across EMEA & APAC for the global IoT division at SAS. During a career spanning four decades, he has been lucky enough to have worked all over the world in diverse roles and sectors of technology and software industries. A passionate believer of utilising the right tools and technology to deliver the best value and outcomes, PPJ considers himself a lifelong learner with an optimistic view of the future of technology.  With the convergence of robotics, analytics, artificial intelligence and IoT on the cusp of the fourth industrial revolution, he believes there has never been a more exciting or important time to be working in the advanced analytics space as we begin the journey to operationalize AI and transform all our lives for the better.

Rob Schaeffer is the President and Chief Operating Officer of CBT. His charter is expanding CBT’s domain expert integration business (information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) convergence) with Fortune 100 companies and further developing CBT’s intellectual property in areas like Industrial IoT. Rob is a highly respected industry leader and brings more than 20 years of strategic management experience in both OEM and channel roles. He was a managing partner for top solution provider Systems Technology Associates, Inc. (STA) for 15 years before moving to HPE as a District Manager in 2013. Rob led strategic accounts for HPE’s Enterprise Storage Division in Southern California then moved up to Director of Channel Sales West and, finally, spent 3 years as Vice President of Channel Sales in the US. During his 15-year tenure at STA, Rob was responsible for Sales and Marketing, as well as Vendor Relations/Acquisition. When Rob joined STA as an owner/partner, the company was a start-up with 5 employees and $3million in revenue. Under his leadership, STA grew to $90M in revenue and 80 employees covering 24 states. At HPE he drove significant wins at Disney, Sony, Nestle, Boeing, Twenty-First Century Fox, and DIRECTV. Rob’s successes stem from his strengths in team leadership and go-to-market strategy, leveraging human capital and innovative technologies to realize significant business impact for his customers. He has always had a passion for relationship building and mentorship and believes strongly in the abilities and value of his team at CBT.
