Abstract
Apps provide a wide variety of new capabilities to computing devices. They have proven to be especially popular in smartphones.
Trusted diverse app stores and payment systems have been available for decades. Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) assures the authenticity and integrity of these systems. Mobile systems are some of the most secure ever created due to their combination of hardware and software systems. Together with PKI, they can support a plurality of hetrogenous systems, benefitting both app developers and consumers.
