Rethinking Connectivity at the Edge: Scaling Fleets of Low-Powered Devices Using NATS.io

Session Abstract:

Data increasingly lives at the Edge. Whether that is an automobile, satellite, oil rig, windmill or a plant floor device the decision making & AI models need to act locally vs “in a cloud that is far, far away”. NATS’ integrated persistence layer can be used to ship these AI models locally & update in realtime highly distributed edge nodes end-to-end, all done with a single binary that does not rely on cloud APIs or external dependencies. NATS also allows users to seamlessly extend their applications & services from cloud to edge without migration or rewrites. We will demonstrate the power of a real multi-cloud solution with leaf nodes and gateways to create a highly distributed topology that extends all the way to the edge.

We have gotten used to a perimeter based security model- especially in the cloud- and put a big wall around it. But you guys already know that this doesn’t work when you need to move things outside of your perimeter as there is no perimeter!

At its heart and soul NATS wants to simplify your connectivity and communications of application services and data spanning all clouds, geographes and edges. Even multiple constraints inside of your organization.
