Gartner predicts that by 2022, more than 80 percent of enterprise IoT projects will include an AI component, up from only 10 percent today.
Artificial intelligence plays a growing role in IoT. Investments and acquisitions in startups that merge AI and IoT have climbed over the past two years. Major vendors of IoT platform software now offer integrated AI capabilities such as machine learning-based analytics.

But the key question is: What kind of AI to you need where in the IoT ecosystem? Learn from the panel focused on different parts of the eco system what they are doing and their perspective on how much intelligence you need and where.

Throughout his career, Wayne has been involved in a number of disruptive technology markets and continues to be engaged technological impacts on how people and businesses live and operate. At Intel, Wayne leads a team that is focused on developing a robust ecosystem in the IoT to provide joint solutions, solving significant market problems that are scalable and sustainable. His team is instrumental in developing this ecosystem of Technology Partners in support of Intel’s key vertical business units and overall Intel business objectives. Prior to Intel, he served as Senior Vice President and GM of the Embedded and Connected Services division of Symphony Services (global technology development and services), President of the Americas division for Acision – (SMS (text messaging) platforms to telecommunications operators), President & COO of Aperian (data center management) and many different positions at GTE (now Verizon). Wayne holds an MBA – finance from Xavier University and a BSBA in Marketing from Central Michigan University.

Stephen Douglas works for Spirent’s strategy organization helping to define technical direction, new innovative solutions and market leading disruptive technologies which make a real difference. With close to 20 years’ experience in telecommunications Stephen has been at the cutting edge of next generation technologies and has worked across the industry with multiple Service Providers, Start-Ups and tier 1 OEM’s helping them drive innovation and transformation. Stephen is an ardent believer in connected technology and strives to challenge, blur and break down the silos which prevent innovation and business success.

Jim Sabogel is an experienced Executive with over 20 years in the Enterprise Software, Life Sciences, Healthcare, and Manufacturing industry. He leads the T-Systems North America Healthcare and Life Sciences vertical. He has been engaging with clients on DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION through numerous projects leveraging: Cloud, Big Data, and IoT. He has a background and experience in Clinical Development; Supply Chain Management; Manufacturing; CRM (Sales and Service); IoT; Big Data / Analytics; Cloud Computing; Blockchain, and Regulatory Standards. He is leading the effort for applying IoT for various businesses that use SAP, Oracle and Microsoft solutions.

Chris Sullivan is the Global Healthcare Practice Lead for Zebra Technologies and is responsible for the strategy and marketing functions for the Healthcare vertical business. Chris began his career with Cardinal Health in 1993 and spent 16 years in sales, marketing, operations, and strategy leadership positions with Cardinal Health. In 2008, Chris joined W.W. Grainger to lead the strategy formation and creation of its Healthcare business. While at W.W. Grainger, he created an industry first business model – designed around the Environment of Care regulatory standards – and distinguished by its innovation, marketplace differentiation, and commercial success. Chris is a Board of Directors member and quality control committee chairperson for Chicago-based Swedish Covenant Hospital. He also has served as a Board member for the Healthcare Supply Chain Research Consortium, and the 10,000 Villages organization.

Saurabh Mishra is responsible for driving product strategy for building the next generation of Analytical solutions for the Internet of Things at SAS. He is also responsible for creating an effective eco-system with SAS partners to support a seamless go-to-market path. He works closely with customers and partners to understand market requirements and helps them drive business value with SAS IoT solutions. Saurabh’s area of expertise include IoT Analytics with a focus on streaming and edge and technical architecture considerations for IoT.
